    The Audit Data Analytics Specialist has the responsibility and opportunity to drive forward the advancement of internal audit data analytics in Canada and globally to expand audit coverage and enhance audit efficiencies in new and innovative ways.

    You will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering strategic analytics initiatives and processes within Internal Audit function to achieve Audit objectives.

    You will be hands-on involved in generating and delivering analytics insights on audits, building audit applications, enabling digital ways of working including automation better access to data, agile processes and bring life to 'art-of-possible' data science use cases for audits.

    Working closely with the local audit team in Canada and the broader Fidelity International audit team, you will continue to promote the use of data analytics throughout the audit lifecycle by identifying, designing, developing and processing repeatable data analytics routines to support an environment of continuous improvement audit monitoring programs.

    Fidelity Canada Internal Audit provides independent and objective assurance and advisory services in alignment to the organizational strategy and vision that help Fidelity Canada manage risk, improve customer service, enhance overall organizational value and business performance, and promote a risk culture of proactive enterprise risk management.

    This mission is accomplished through assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, compliance, risk management and governance processes; reporting on issues and solutions that improve Fidelity Canada's control environment; promoting best practices, continuous enhancements and improvement of financial, operational controls, processes, and system capabilities; and responding to change with a sense of urgency through continuous risk assessment and resource allocation.

    Work alongside other business and technology auditors to deliver "integrated" audits by fully integrating and embedding data analytics into internal audit activities:
    Provide architecture and design expertise and oversight to audit data projects.

    Engage with IT and business partners to understand data structure, availability, and accessibility, and build a foundational knowledgebase around businesses, systems, contacts, and data sources for future efforts.

    Participate in walkthroughs to understand business requirements and identify and acquire the necessary data required to meet audit use case objectives.

    Develop data analytics and models within tools such as Knime Analytics Platform, JIRA, and perform audit testing and data mining procedures by organizing and analyzing large volume of data to evaluate controls, identify anomalies, outliers, patterns, and trends and generate actionable data-driven insights.

    Leverage applied understanding of programming languages (e.g., (SQL, Python, JavaScript, R, SAS), stats, machine learning, data visualization, exploratory data analysis, predictive modeling, ML Ops to uncover gaps in control objectives and enhanced risk assurance.

    Collaborate with Business Analytics, MLOps Engineers, Data Privacy and other stakeholders to ensure any proprietary model developments deployed to production adhere to enterprise policies and requirements with regards to model development, documentation, deployment and monitoring best practices.

    Document audit testing procedures and audit results using best practices by organizing and forming conclusions based on the outcome of the testing.

    Monitor and maintain an effective system of data analytics and models to provide insight into risks and control and support internal audit's processes and activities:
    Gain the necessary access to develop and maintain robust data pipelines.

    Utilize programming skills (Python, SQL) to query, extract and manipulate data from various databases to support repeatable and automation of data analytics to execute assurance and advisory engagements, and continuous monitoring risk assessments.

    Continuously monitor and fine tune model performance by evaluating new or revised data sources, modelling techniques, and tools, and look for ways to further automate analysis of vast datasets to support and promote data-driven audits.

    Troubleshoot and debug technical issues promptly to maintain the reliability of analytics and tools build.
    Assist in developing and documenting an intake process for application development and maintenance to support the audit activities.

    Plan, lead and develop proof of concept solutions on Audit Process Automation, Continuous Auditing and Monitoring, and other projects enabling audit digitization.

    Partner with other audit team members to identify opportunities to improve audit processes via AI/ML, automation pipelines and analytics.

    Enhance visualization and incorporate relevant Data Profiling in departmental and audit projects reporting:
    Generate reports or data extracts to support audit planning and analysis.
    Present technical analyses and emerging / thematic risks in a meaningful and intuitive manner using digitalization and data visualization (e.g., Microsoft solutions like PowerBI, with a focus on creating user-friendly and dynamic interfaces.

    Build and maintain customized dashboards to communicate real-time, data-driven actionable insights to risks and controls Develop and automate high-impact reporting and dashboards, info-graphics material to manage internal committee, audit committee and Board material.

    Assist and drive forward the Internal Audit data analytics strategy:

    Maintain a data library in support of a wide array of audit analytics procedures; Share and promote success stories relating to completed projects within audit.

    Stay up to date with the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in data science and identify opportunities for their applications, and share information and ideas with the team to cultivate a culture of innovation followed by execution.

    Contribute to the development of Internal Audit policies, strategy and continually improve audit and supporting processes leveraging technology to the fullest.

    Contribute to design of roadmap for analytics and data science, e.g., analytics adaption and training curriculum about basic analytics tasks of descriptive analysis and AI/ML within audits.

    Knowledge of risks and controls associated with products across asset management.

    Strong quantitative, analytical, data-intuition, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in data analytics techniques (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive), including extracting meaningful insights and presenting findings to support decision-making.

    Strong proficiency in developing and evaluating analytics and models using programming languages such as SQL, Python, SAS, JavaScript, or others with a focus on creating user-friendly interfaces.

    Proficient in working with databases for effective data storage, retrieval, and management
    Experience with executing and documenting MLOps/DevOps lifecycles, and related governance processes.
    Experience and passion for data analytics and emerging technologies, visualization, and digitalization.

    Demonstrate autonomy in the context of transformation, and is flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task and quickly respond and adapt effectively to changing business needs and priorities.

    Excellent initiative and organizational skills/project management (Agile/Scrum) skills to manage concurrent projects, drive performance and meet deadlines.

    University degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) fields, with emphasis on degrees in data science, statistics, math, computer science or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.

    Proven ability to develop the data analytics capabilities of others and proficiency in data extraction, manipulation, predictive modeling, and data analytics techniques / analysis experience in audit, financial, risk management, or technology functions.

    Understanding and experience of machine learning and development, including MLOps and DevOps lifecycles.
    Passion for data science, artificial intelligence, UX/AI and sharing knowledge with others
    Proficiency with data science, visualization, and development tools (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL, SAS, R, PowerBI, Knime Analytics etc.).
