Role:
As a Team Lead, Information Services you will provide leadership, supervision, guidance, professional development, and direct support (assistance with front line services) to the Information Coordinators.
In this position you will be reporting to Manager, Information Services and working within current legislation, department policy and office procedures to ensure department is operating efficiently and effectively, with high degree of focus in customer service.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Provides supervision, support, and direction to the Information Coordinators
- Participates in interviews and the selection process for hire of information services positions.
- Provides orientation to new hires, including training on information services policies and procedures.
- Monitors work to ensure accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Provide effective and efficient administration of Business and Resolution Services, information services.
- Assists self presented litigants by providing impartial, plain language, accurate, timely and detailed legal information regarding justice processes and services in Criminal, youth, family and civil matters at all court levels.
- Provide referral services to facilitate access to justice for self represented parties.
- You will provide outreach services to facilitate access to justice for self represented litigants in rural locations.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with appropriate government and nongovernment organizations, court staff, judiciary and justice personnel to obtain input that will enhance the quality of services provided to the clients.
- Works with communities and justice system partners to assess service delivery requirements and to develop proposals to address potential gaps.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of the services offered by internal and external agencies offering justice services.
- The position does requires up to 25% travel.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Demonstrate a range of accepted conflict resolution, negotiation, problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
- Utilize deescalation techniques and converse about safety planning with staff.
- Understand the origins and consequences of workrelated stress and use coping and management skills to promote wellness.
- Demonstrate empathy, sensitive to confidentiality, respect, and ethical behavior.
- Skills required: organizational, administrative, time management, public relations, and presentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Oneyear certificate in a related field plus two years related experience.
- At least
- 5 years of relevant supervisory and leadership experience.
- Court experience would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Family Law Legislation including the Family Law Act and Extra Provincial Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, Divorce Act, Protection Against Family Violence Act, Child Youth & Family Enhancement Act, Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act, Child Support Guidelines, Alberta Rules of Court, Practice Notes and Court Procedure Manuals.
- Knowledge of government and nongovernment agencies and services available to assist selfrepresented litigants.
Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year of directly related experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
