Cement Powder Spreader - Edmonton, Canada - The Fath Group
Description
Responsibilities:
75% of the responsibility of this job will be centered on materials tandem driving while 25% will be cement powder spreading.
- Perform Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspections
- Load and drive cement spreader truck in a safe manner following transportation and safety legislations
- Effectively and respectfully communicate with the Materials Dispatcher & various onsite Foremen
- Follow Health & Safety rules to ensure operation in the safest manner at all times
- Daily, Weekly greasing, maintenance & washing of trucks
- Ensure that safety compliance is adhered to at all times according to OH&S and National Safety Code
- Attend and contribute to weekly safety meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience driving 10 to 18 speed manual tri or tandem axle spreader truck in a med large organization within a municipality/City. Other related experience may be considered.
- Some experience working with a paving company or similar industry will be an asset
- Must possess a valid class 3 driver's license or above and a reliable vehicle. Must have a clean drivers abstract & be able to drive a manual transmission and valid safety certifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or high school diploma
- Ability to operate smartphones, WhatsApp and some computer knowledge will be required
- Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
- High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
- Competent Driver/Defensive Driver; familiar with Edmonton and Surrounding Areas
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and familiar & comfortable with respiratory PPE
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision
Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal position and starts in spring of every year
- This position could also be a parttime position consisting of mostly early mornings
- This position is eligible for overtime
- Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required
- Training will be provided for various activities
- We offer excellent wages and benefit eligibility after 3 months in which you may continue your benefits during the winter months (off season).
- Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season.
