***The
Material Handler is directly accountable to the Production Supervisor on the floor and to the Operations Manager.


Able to organize, control and prioritize area of responsibility and to carry out to completion on an agreed timetable and to abide by all Vicwest health and safety rules.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Unloads coils from trucks
  • Reviews and completes coil check sheet
  • Loads trucks as outlined by the shipping department
  • Completes shipping inspection checklist to hand into shipping department
  • Receive and put away products
  • Pick and pack orders
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment
  • Use a variety of hand/power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Applies lean manufacturing principals to every day duties
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Operations Manager

EDUCATION, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:


  • Forklift certification required
  • Standup lift truck experience an asset
  • Class 5A license an asset
  • SAP experience an asset
  • ISO quality of standard experience an asset
  • Able to distinguish varying colours
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detai
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work on a wide variety of tasks
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs.

Job Types:
Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 8 months


Salary:
From $21.50 per hour

  • Stand up Forklift: 1 year (preferred)
- material handling: 2 years (required)
