Cornwall, ON Manufacturing Experienced Full-time - Permanent

Nautel C-Tech, part of the Nautel Group, is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of sonar systems for international defence and non-defence customers.

A position has arisen for a Purchaser/Buyer, responsible for the process and administration of purchasing material components, equipment and services.

This role will require independent work, as well as teamwork, and the ability to learn and understand the requirements of the business and our customers.

The role will include the following:
Requesting and reviewing quotes;
All purchasing activity required for the business;
Ensures flow down of contract requirements to suppliers;
Reviewing contracts in relation to how they will impact purchasing requirements;
Working with QA to assess vendor performance, as well as seeking alternative and new vendors as required;
Working with others to determine sources for new materials;
Completing vendor assessments to ensure on-time deliveries and mínimal non-conformances;
Reviewing freight, duty and brokerage costs;
Liasing with suppliers regarding rejects and replacements.

What you'll need

Qualifications:

2-3 years in a purchasing role, ideally in a similar environment;
Prior experience using ERP/MRP systems would be an asset;
Prior experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment would be an asset;
Demonstrated ability to build strong supplier relationships;
The ability to work well to deadlines;
The ability to work well and communicate effectively with others across the organisation;
Demonstrated flexibility in duties and approach to work;
Demonstrated commitment to Quality and Continuous Improvement;
Shown accountability for actions and performance standards.
