The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD Bank's Canadian and US P&C: non-trading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position.

The Balance Sheet Reporting and Analytics (BSRA) team is a centralized function in the Balance Sheet Measurement and Analytics (BSMA) team in TBSM responsible for completing all reporting and analytics relating to Non-Trading Market Risk (NTMR) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP).

This newly re-aligned team will be accountable for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all reporting coming from the BSMA group.

As a centralized function in TBSM, the team is responsible for providing insights on the Bank's Segment reporting and NIM results and Non-Trading Market Risk Positions.


Job Description:


The Manager will provide in-depth analysis on Non-Trading Market Risk Positions and proactively explain changes in the risk measures with reference to hedging books and strategies.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness reporting to Risk Management, Board, Financial Disclosures and Regulators.
  • Work with Balance Sheet Measurement & Projects (BSMP) team to monitor risk position against approved limits and ensure material breaches are addressed on a timely basis through stable reporting output.
  • Support key stakeholders by performing market risk analytics to provide valueadd guidance.
  • Review current processes and proactively make changes or propose initiatives to improve efficiencies to provide more effective business support.
  • Support the team through various initiatives
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
  • Understand and comply with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements

Requirements:


Competencies and Personal Qualities:


  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to leverage visualization tools, such as Tableau, to explain complicated concept in a clear and concise manner to senior and executive level audiences.
  • Selfstarter with a proven ability to meet deadlines, own initiatives, and work effectively under minimum supervision.
  • Proactive and highly motivated individual who will take the ownership of the initiatives.
  • Able to multitask while maintaining attention to detail with tight timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; team player

Experience:


  • 5 years financial service or consulting practice experience in the areas of Asset Liability Management, Risk Management and Fixed Income portfolio management concepts and techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of retail banking product features and characteristics.
  • Proficient with computer tools (SQL, Tableau) for data query, visualization and analytics.

Additional Information

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:


  • Postsecondary degree in Finance, Math, Business, or Economics
  • MBA, CFA, FRM, CA, and/or CMA considered assets
