We are looking for a collaborative, motivated and creative individual who can lead a team delivering high-quality information that will impact child intervention programs and services by providing support in managing data analytics, including data collection, data analysis and interpretation, data visualization, data modelling, forecasting and reporting writing.


Reporting to the Director, PAI, the Child Intervention Program Analysis and Advancement Manager is responsible for managing statistical analysis and reporting for wide-ranging audience target groups within Children and Family Services.

The position is also expected to provide strategic direction, advice and specialized support related to the overall design, development, and implementation of initiatives that involve a combination of data and trend analysis, quality assurance and performance management within the Division and Ministry.

The Manager works within a team environment to provide intelligence for strategic and business planning and evidence-based decision-making.

This position ensures that sound research methods and approaches are used and ensures that stakeholder needs are identified and addressed.

The Manager promotes the use of quality assurance and continuous improvement best-practices and encourages proactive sharing of results and analytical information.

This position will provide strategic direction, advice and specialized support related to the annual research/data plan, data analyses, operational reporting, visual representations and other information products as determined.


This position manages eight data analysts and helps to support ministry staff in the meaningful use of data analytics to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate child intervention services, the Manager leads the data analysis team in ensuring trend analysis is conducted consistently and presented in insightful and easy-to-understand formats.

The manager will do this through their strong strategical thinking skills and ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and innovate future reporting.

Qualifications:


University graduation in a related field (such as, but not limited to Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration, Economics or Statistics) combined with a minimum of six years' progressively related experience is required.

Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

  • Experience must include demonstrated experience leading and managing data analytics, including data collection, data analysis and interpretation, data visualization, data modelling and reporting writing.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and SQL are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SRS Report Builder, Opinio or other survey software are assets.
Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.


Preferences:

  • Master's degree
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, statistical analysis methods, statistical modelling, forecasting and socioeconomic research.
  • Background and training in data science
