WORK LOCATION: REGIONAL POSITION

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who designs, implements, updates, analyses and assesses activities in a behavior modification program.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
- Participate in the observation and analyst of the behavior of the service users, assessing their needs, abilities and records their progress;
- Provide clinical skills instructions, behavior reduction protocols, and best practices to those working with clients;
- Working with clients with challenging behavior patterns on the path to rehabilitation in an institutional or external setting;
- Participates to the development, implementation, evaluation and review of rehabilitation programs, and of standards of the professional practice;
- Participates to the identification of the needs and to the presentation of the youth's clinical profile;
- Work closely with the rehabilitation staff, multidisciplinary team and external partners.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Bachelor degree in Psychoeducation.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, especially related to behavior related programs.

Knowledge and Abilities:

- Good knowledge of the Act on the youth protection (AYP) and on the criminal justice Act for adolescents (CJAA);
- Knowledge of the child development and family dynamic;
- Experience in case management and as a clinical advisor;
- Experience in working in a multidisciplinary team;
- Knowledge of Cree culture and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
- Knowledge of Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigms is an asset;
- Knowledge and experience with autism and behavioral techniques;
- Knowledge of appropriate ways to handle intervention with challenging behavior;
- Good understanding of psychosocial issues;
- Experience with First Nation or with cross cultural work is an asset;
- Experience with community-based interventions and coordination of service plans;
- Excellent interpersonal and listening communication, and teamwork skills;
- Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge, as applied to coaching and training;
- Work in a team environment, open to change and development of services, excellent interpersonal skills;
- Autonomous, flexible and discrete;
- Analytical, good judgment, empathetic;
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision making skills;
- High adaptability capacity.

LANGUAGE
- Fluent in English;
- Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.

OTHER
- Willing to travel to various communities.

DESCRIPTION

FONCTIONS SPÉCIFIQUES
- Participer à l'observation et à l'analyste du comportement des utilisateurs du service, évaluer leurs besoins, leurs capacités et enregistrer leurs progrès;

- Participe à l'identification des besoins et à la présentation du profil clinique du jeune;
- Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le personnel de réadaptation, l'équipe multidisciplinaire et les partenaires externes.

EXIGENCES
Formation:

- Baccalauréat en psychologie ou un baccalauréat en psychoéducation.

Expérience:

- Minimum de deux (2) ans d'expérience pertinente, particulièrement liée au programme lié au comportement.

Connaissances et capacités:

- Bonne connaissance de la loi sur la protection de la jeunesse et de la loi sur la justice pénale pour adolescents.
- Connaissance du développement de l'enfant et de la dynamique familiale.
- Expérience en gestion de cas et en tant que conseiller clinique.
- Expérience de travail dans une équipe multidisciplinaire.
- La connaissance de la culture et des questions sociales et de santé en Eeyou Istchee est un atout.
- La connaissance des pratiques et paradigmes de guérison Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun sont un atout.
- Connaissance et expérience de l'autisme et des techniques comportementales.
- Connaissance des moyens appropriés de gérer l'intervention avec un comportement difficile.
- Bonne compréhension des problèmes psychosociaux.
- Expérience avec les Premières Nations ou avec un travail interculturel est un atout.
- Expérience des interventions communautaires et de la coordination des plans de services.
- Excellentes aptitudes à la communication interpersonnelle et à l'écoute et au travail d'équipe.
