    Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP), the intern will be required to assimilate the knowledge necessary to understand and prepare commercial credit files. The intern will assist the Manager, Portfolio Management and Senior Account Managers in business model analysis, financial analysis, risk analysis and collateral evaluation. The position will be either based in Toronto, Montreal, or a remote working condition.

    The internship starting in May 2024 until August 2024.

    The intern will work closely with the Commercial Banking team & will be responsible to:

  • Enter client financial statements and other financial information into the risk rating tool.
  • Perform financial analysis on client financial statements and sensitivity analysis and provide recommendations or comparisons within industry and market standards.
  • Complete underwriting of credit applications, amendments, and annual file reviews within the prescribed timeframe.
  • Identify and analyze risks associated with client activities.
  • Follow up on irregularities in client portfolios.
  • Participate and collaborate during meetings or conference calls with clients and fellow peers.
  • Carry out work according to specific objectives while respecting the legislation in force, the policies, programs and procedures of the Bank.
  • Participate in integrity and compliance requirements (code of conduct, internal policies).
  • Internship requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree student in Finance/Accounting or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills (essential).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a collaborative/positive mindset.
  • Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interest in finance and good analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of the Office suite.
  • Stong communication skills in French and English*
