Job Summary


Weis Group of Companies is a consulting, design, and brand identity firm with a focus on automotive retail and service design, production, and construction.

We have an unparalleled body of experience in the automotive vertical, working on some of the world's most prestigious facilities.

We are looking for a new hire to join the Weis team as a Revit Technician.

Our office work primarily on developing automotive retail (car dealership) design concepts for major brands such as Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Audi, Maserati, and Jaguar Land Rover to name a few.


The Revit Technician (RT) produces design intent drawings in Revit and supports the account lead with project coordination, interfacing with projects stakeholders (clients, suppliers, consultant team), while ensuring their work maintains scheduled deadlines and is within intended project scope and budget.


Essential Responsibilities
Design

  • Model various Weis client design program elements as Revit families, maintain libraries and other technical elements which assist design and production team.
  • Create and update drawings using mainly Revit as assigned, AutoCAD knowledge an asset.
  • Keep up to date with and share your understanding of Canadian construction methods and practices.
  • Model existing conditions from prints, related documents and/or surveys.
  • Work collaboratively with Weis team to prepare, review and update design documents during schematic design, general design development or program guide evolution, as assigned.
  • Render conceptual design ideas and prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings as required using Lumion, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications updates and data management from drawings.
General & Program Coordination

  • Support the Production Team in coordinating with clients, program suppliers, automotive dealers and their consultant teams through all phases of project.
  • Provide timely support with construction and/or program questions from stakeholders as requested.
  • Assist with project coordination tasks such as communicating project status to stakeholders, scheduling meetings, preparing agenda, materials/samples as required.
  • Attend project meetings and take meeting minutes and assisting with deficiency reports as required.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with multidisciplinary inhouse teams to meet overall project objectives.
  • Take a proactive role in ensuring effective communication amongst the project team.
Conduct Expectations

  • Ambassador of Weis both internal and external accordingly, conduct oneself as a leader and role model.
  • Enthusiastically participate and contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs to further professional development of self and other staff.
  • Participate in Weis teaching office ethic of continuously interchanging knowledge, experience, and project insights with Weis' colleagues.
  • Contribute to process improvement, following standing operating procedures and maintaining standardization.
  • Ensure all past and current Weis' internal client and project files are stored on the company server.
  • Complete timesheets daily following Weis' standards.
  • Use and share Outlook calendar with Weis' colleagues for all workrelated scheduling.
  • Adhere to all company policies, standard operating procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Commit to living the Weis Core Values.
  • Participate in client meetings as required and requested (mostly digital, although some site visits might be requested).
  • Follow client project standards and specifications.
  • Follow strictly to Weis & Associates standards and guidelines, including AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, and Microsoft Office.
