    Reporting to the Manager of Clinic Operations, Nursing, SystemicTherapy, Palliative and Supportive Care RCCNW,

    you will demonstrate a working knowledge and skill set reflectiveof the Radiation and Systemic Therapy practice

    settings. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providingquality nursing care to patients including complex

    patient populations whose outcomes are not predictable. As part ofa multidisciplinary health care team, you will

    practice within the Professional Standards of the College ofNurses of Ontario, the Standards of Care identified by

    CANO and CCO, the Philosophy of patient and family centered care,mission vision, values and the policies of

    Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The nursing process,based on the CANO Oncology Standards of

    clinical care, will be utilized to assess, diagnose, establish aplan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate and

    document responses.

    Applicants must the following qualifications:

    Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse withthe College of Nurses of Ontario

    Current certification in BCLS

    deSouza Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy & BiotherapyCertification course

    Recent knowledge in Oncology Nursing with experience in thecare of complex patient populations, including, but

    not limited to: care of immunosuppressed patients (oral care,wound prevention, wound care, safety precautions)

    Advanced knowledge in oncology emergency assessments andinterventions

    Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his

    basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery

    Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action

    Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions

    Strong interprofessional and communication skills

    Central Venous Line Management

    In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who have:

    Care of and experience with advanced pain and symptommanagement, genetic counseling, cancer prevention

    and screening, and clinical trials.

    Have a certification, or recent continuing education inOncology Nursing

    CNA Certification in Hospice Palliative Care

    Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
