Description
Job Description
Make a life-changing impact as a Nurse Practitioner in Mount Sinai Hospital's NICU. As one of Canada's largest Level 3 NICUs, we are renowned for our experience with micro-preemies. Experience the unparalleled reward of delivering innovative care to our tiniest and most vulnerable patients. If you're driven to practice at the forefront of neonatal care, collaborate with leading experts, and shape the future of this rewarding field, then Mount Sinai is where you belong.
Is this you?
You are seeking a role that allows you to fully utilize your skills in a cutting-edge environment. This opportunity offers a unique blend of clinical, educational, and leadership experiences. Here, you will gain experience with some of the most challenging and rewarding neonatal cases, enabling you to learn from a diverse patient population and enhance your confidence and capabilities in various clinical situations. You will have the opportunity to perform advanced assessments, intubations, line insertions, and resuscitations.
In this role, you will make impactful decisions while receiving support for professional growth. You will refine your leadership experience by participating in quality assurance and program development initiatives. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team will enhance your teamwork and communication skills. Additionally, your involvement in research and evidence-based practice will deepen your expertise, preparing you for advanced clinical roles, leadership positions, and opportunities in academic or research settings.
You have a deep-seated commitment to delivering exceptional care to newborns, particularly those facing complex medical needs. You thrive in a dynamic, high-acuity environment and are drawn to the challenges and rewards of working with a diverse and often fragile patient population. You understand that every tiny hand you hold represents a world of hope and possibility, and you're driven to make a lasting difference in the lives of these vulnerable infants and their families.
About our NICU
The NICU consists of 2 levels of specialized care: Level III and Level II. The NICU has beds and provides care for infants who require assisted ventilation, intravenous nutrition, intensive cardiorespiratory monitoring and/or close nursing and medical care. Each year our team provides care for approximately 1, neonates. Family Integrated Care (FICare) is the philosophy that guides how we provide care for the infants in our NICU. This means parents are viewed as an integral part of the NICU team providing active care for their infant, instead of being in a passive support role.
