    Position Summary


Reporting to the Team Leader and working in a team environment, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing a variety of duties from multiple programs with varying degrees of eligibility and policy requirements.


Specifically, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Medicare team, including the MSI Medical Consultant, MSI Medical auditors and the NSPP Leadership Team.


This postition can be full-time in our Dartmouth, NS Office location or a Hybrid (work from home & office) with the requirement of being in the office 2 days per week.

The work hours are flexible and can be either 8:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am

  • 5:00pm, Monday Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the MSI Medical Consultants, including the preparation of all correspondence related to preapproval decisions.
  • Responsible for opening, preparing and distributing mail for the Medicare Departments
  • General administrative duties including, filing, scanning, faxing, etc.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining spreadsheets relating to all physician requests that require patient pre approval by the MSI Medical Consultants.
  • Responsible to provide assistance to update departmental procedures.
  • Provide admin support to the greater NSPP department as required.
  • Communicate with Physicians and NS residents through oral and written communication
  • Request and file medical records accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide support for the patient service verification process.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other internal operational areas.
  • Prepares materials for offsite storage, maintaining storage records and arrange for removal to storage site. Recall of materials as requested

Required Qualifications

  • Highly effective listening skills to ascertain customer's needs, and determine appropriate action required for solution.
  • Excellent verbal skills for explaining complex issues to customers.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills

Education:
Post secondary training in business and/or administration with a minimum of three years relevant work experience. Medical Terminology an assest


Work Experience:
Work experience within an office environment would be considered an asset


Other Qualifications:


Language Skills:
Bilingualism would be considered an asset, English is mandatory.
