Description

Wendell Farquhar is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of General Labourer in Elliot Lake, Ontario.

This is a full-time year-round position available with competitive wages.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist equipment operators, and other skilled labour when necessary
Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
Load or unload construction materials
Perform site cleanup
Display professionalism toward our company and customers
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor, including occasional shop related duties.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Valid G Driver's License is required
A high school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
Ability to work long hours Including weekends at times
Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Willing to travel to job sites.
Capable of all physical requirements including lifting (up to 50lb), bending, climbing, etc.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
Knowledge of computer/tablet use
