THE ROLE:


As Building Operator, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and operations services for our Yorkville Village Assets, one of FCR's highest-profile portfolios in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the country.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations and Capital Projects, you will ensure that assigned properties are maintained safely and to the highest level of operational efficiency.

The work schedule will be five (5) days a week and may be anywhere from Monday to Sunday. You must also be available work evenings, on-call, and emergency callouts to provide sufficient building coverage.


Please note the position is a parental leave contract position, lasting approximately 9 months, with possibility of extension or permanent full-time opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Carry out the daytoday execution of operations and maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted tenant operations and asset integrity is maintained.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance program and ensure that deficiencies are identified and included.
  • Perform corrective maintenance and repairs within scope of key trade designation.
  • Respond and service tenant requests and work orders as required while ensuring completed work meets quality and response requirements.
  • Receive, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work; initiate documents to authorize or obtain formal approval of work required.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
  • Support current and the proactive planning of capital projects.
  • Assist with the set up and execution of special events, activations, and pop ups, where occasional lifting and carrying of tables and furniture will be required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Property management team.

WHAT YOU BRING:


  • Experience in retail or commercial building operations and maintenance.
  • Building Environmental Systems (BES) Certification Class I or Class II.
  • Knowledge of building operations systems including building automation, electrical and plumbing systems, HVAC, Fire Alarm and Life Safety.
  • Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety regulations and procedures, including national and industry codes such as WHMIS.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • A service-oriented attitude; you care about providing exceptional customer service, with the ability to problem solve and offer solutions over a wide variety of disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player; willing to step in and lend a hand as needed and identify the opportunities to do so.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with tenants, contractors and vendors, internal teams, and others.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to coordinate multiple, competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Solid computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, iPhone operation, and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Experience with Building Access Control Management software would be an asset.
