- Undertake research and analysis on planning policy, legislation, development standards and application requirements
- Due diligence on land use planning policy frameworks for land acquisition
- Participate in concept design on new projects
- Invite proposals and assist in engagement of consultant teams
- Coordinate the work of consultants
- Submission of complete applications for development approvals
- Coordinate responses to agency comments, and clear conditions for final approval
- Meet with public officials on development plans and proposals
- Communicate with the public and stakeholders
- Participate at public consultation meetings and workshops
- Attendance and participation in Planning Act hearings including the Committee of Adjustment and the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal
- Assist in all stages of project planning, approvals, marketing and implementation
- Attend Committee and Council meetings, as required
- University Degree in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture or a related field. A degree in Urban Planning is preferred
- 13 years of related professional experience
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Highly efficient and effective in working in an individual or team environment
- Ability to handle a high level of responsibility in a fastpaced environment
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities
