The Team
Leads and oversees Finance Data Management Data Services team within Global Finance & Risk Technology (GFRT) provides analytics and support services for Global Finance Initiatives.
The Finance Data Management Data Services team supports Financial Close Processes and provide Financial Data Management, Data Analysis, Data Quality and Data Governance services for Toronto/CanadaThe Role
As a Manager of Meta Data you are required to liaise with finance business analysts to assess chart of accounts(CoFA) requirements, accounting (Statutory & Regulatory Trees), new business initiatives and chart of accounts requirements, ledger migrations.
The individual must thrive on challenge, has a penchant for data analytics, be proactive, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.
Some of the key accountabilities include:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Work with data platforms such as OFSAA/OBIEE
- Design data chart of account models for proof of concept
- Automate some of the operational tasks
- New data pipeline integration
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You Will Bring to Succeed
- 2+ years of experience with Accounting policy/ Finance roles dealing with financial statements
- Understanding the ledger and the CoFA design
- Basic SQL/ACL knowledge for automation
- CPA/University degree (Mathematics & Accounting)
