Community Futures West Yellowhead is a community-driven, non-profit organization staffed by business professionals and guided by a Board of Directors from the five municipalities in the West Yellowhead region.

We support growth and innovation in rural Alberta through the delivery of highly effective business coaching, training, loans and economic development projects.

CF West Yellowhead is currently hiring for a Digital Services Squad - Team Member for an exciting initiative in the West Yellowhead region: The Digital Economy Program.

As a member of the DSS Team, you will be supporting small businesses as they integrate and/or upgrade their online operations and presence, allowing them to adopt eCommerce practices to help their businesses thrive and grow.

The Digital Economy
Program, a collaboration by Business Link and Digital Main Street, is funded by the Government of Alberta.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Onboarding Assistance:

• Conduct prebusiness digital assessments to best understand the neighbourhood and businesses.
• Complete onboarding surveys with business owners to best understand their business goals and how digital tools/technology can assist them in meeting their goals
• Assist the business in staying in touch with Business Link and Digital Main Street by subscribing to their enewsletter and social channels.

Advisory Services:

• Guide business owners through the Digital Assessment and Recommendations once fully on

- boarded to the Digital Economy Program

• Assist business owners to identify their priorities and digital tools/technology they want to activate
• Provide vendor recommendations made through the platform and lead the business owner to relevant deals/discounts on the platform.

Activation/Implementation Services

• Activate and implement free, easy to use digital tools and technologies that businesses would like to use (i.e., activate social media accounts, creating an online business profile, etc.)

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:

• Digital Service Squad program promotion and related activities
• Program reporting and administration in partnership with the CFWY Team, mainly the CFWY

Business Analyst

• General marketing assistance at CFWY

Desired skills and qualifications:

• Digital Marketing Certificate/Diploma/Degree, or related experience and/or education
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Time management skills and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building / relationship management skills
• Previous experience in a sales role and/or marketing environment is an asset
• Be familiar with digital technologies for small business (e.g., web, social media, ecommerce, etc.)
• Be able to use basic software and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,

Outlook, PowerPoint) and Slack

• Previous experience with online and offline marketing is considered a strong asset.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and valid insurance
• Access to reliable transportation
• Travel within the West Yellowhead region
• Ability to work in the Hinton office for probationary period (90 days) with discussion of remote work after the probationary period
