Job Overview


Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, as the
Construction Carpenter you will perform general carpentry and other construction labour activities while ensuring adherence to Qualico's Safety Program.


Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Creating deficiency lists and completing basic repairs.
  • Maintaining general cleanliness to ensure job site is clear of waste and scrap materials. Maintaining organization of storage facility.
  • Loading and/or unloading construction materials and moving to work areas.
  • Building and maintaining fences or barriers to keep general public safe from hazardous work areas.
  • Assisting in completing basic carpentry related tasks or other construction labour duties as required.
  • Comprehending and comply with Qualico's safety Program. Reporting any incidents or nearmiss incidents immediately to the Site Superintendent.
  • Providing support to other projects or duties as assigned.
  • Organized; you effectively manage your time while balancing multiple priorities.
  • A strong communicator; you clearly express your thoughts in conversation and in written communication.
  • An active listener; you seek to understand and listen to others in a nonjudgmental way.

Essential Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements as well as varying techniques for different construction processes and procedures.
  • Comfortable using carpentry related tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions
You primarily work on site during regular business hours with travel within Calgary and surrounding communities. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required.
