The Powder Coater is responsible for powder coating customer materials ensuring parts are painted/ coated properly according to customer specifications while meeting quality standards.
Reports to:
Production Supervisor
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare customer materials for coating, verify drawings for proper powder coatings instructions.
- Inspect customer materials prior to and during coating process.
- Set up and adjust manual & automatic powder guns.
- Complete powder inventory process, filling out powder consumption sheet and conduct stock checks on powders to ensure sufficient supply of powder is maintained
- Load powder recipes in automatic gun set up for standard powders & customer products.
- Determine paint flow and coating quality by performing visuals inspection.
- Ensure that all materials are coated efficiently and are consistent with company established standards for quality.
- Participate in the colour change process including thoroughly cleaning and maintaining powder coating equipment, hoses & booth, etc.
- Operate the powder reclaim system and check reclaim powder.
- Recognize and trouble shoot problems and adjust accordingly.
- Report any problems with powder equipment performance/quality.
- Complete inspection and daily checklist of maintenance
- Utilize manufacturing execution software to review production requirements and work instructions.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the "Act") and the regulation
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of industrial powder coating experienced (preferred)
- 2+ years' experience with painting on a conveyor system line.
- Powder coating experience involving wash stages.
- Ability to read and understand powder codes.
- Basic knowledge of reading part blueprints and knowledge of maintaining paint line functionality.
- Able to establish between different colour on colour spectrum and recognize variance between colours.
- Experience with performing colour change process in conveyorline powder coating operations.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and conditions (hot)
- Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to multitask, effective time management & attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal.
Pay:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour
