Description

The Dispatcher is responsible for the scheduling and dispatch of drivers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles for conveyance of oilfield specific work.

Responsibilities include coordination and assignment of drivers and trucks to specific jobs.

The role includes providing support in a fast paced, high call volume environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.

All duties of the Dispatcher are to be performed according to B&R Eckel's Transport's operating procedures in order to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to efficiently perform the task.


Job Duties

  • Receive and process work requests from customers
  • Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to requests, specifications, and/or needs with the goal to book the most timely service possible
  • Provide accurate directions to relevant staff for services required
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and safety technicians
  • Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules
  • Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules
  • Manage a realtime transportation database
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required

Competencies/Skills Required

  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (eg: permit and legislated requirements)
  • Computer Literate
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Flexible, able to deal with change

  • Very organized, with excellent multitasking and problem solving skills

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Overtime as required
  • May be required to work outdoors
  • Shift work required

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
From $27.00 per hour

No less than 40 per week
