POSITION OVERVIEW


Elicits and manages concept, high and detailed level requirements on corporate projects resulting in new, upgraded or modified SaskTel products, services and systems.

Facilitates project team members and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and develop business processes and workflows. Works as part of the project team to enable design, implementation and testing of project deliverables.


TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)

  • Collaborates with internal and external business partners to plan, organize, and elicit requirements, test and release management activities. Facilitates meetings with business units, user groups and the technical resources to elicit requirements through interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process analysis, use cases, scenarios, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Documents current state and builds desired future state of business processes and workflows, identifying gaps, redundancies, problem areas,
and recommending solutions and process automation improvements.

  • Gathers information from multiple project stakeholders/ team members and evaluates it; reconciling conflicting requirements, decomposing
concept to high and high to detailed level requirements while determining requests from true business needs.

  • Responsible for planning, gathering, defining, analyzing, categorizing and documenting requirements for work process automation,
new system or product/service functionality and enhancements to existing products, services and systems.

  • Creates business analysis plan to provide work estimate for corporate projects including requirements elicitation, documentation and analysis,
workflow creation and any other project responsibilities.

  • Identifies risks to corporate projects raised through requirements or process workflows. Works to create and provide recommendations on resolution.
  • Acts as liaison between IS and the Business Units on corporate projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough knowledge, typically gained with 2 years experience in two of the following, as stated in the posted position:
a) Recognized University Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.
b) Recognized Technical Institute Diploma in Managed Information Systems and 2 years of current technical support experience in relevant business area.
c) Certificate in Business Analysis and 3 years of current technical support experience in relevant business area.
d) Minimum of 3 classes in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information. Systems or Business Information Systems and 5 years of current technical support experience in relevant business area.

  • Working knowledge of processes, procedures, and/or systems in one or more of the following posted relevant business areas:
a) Customer Relationship Management
b) Service Development and Management
c) Provisioning and Activation of products and services
d) Resource Management & Operations

  • Working knowledge of standards, practices, processes and techniques used in one or more of the following disciplines:
a) Requirements Analysis
b) BusinessProcess Management and Framework (eTom, BPM)

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Solutions Development Life Cycle.
  • Good facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead, train and coach others.
  • Ability to plan and organize in a selfdirected environment.
