Major Duties:


The Technical Quality Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to all aspects of the Business and Quality Management System and supporting internal and external operations.

This includes standardizing quality business processes by recognizing opportunities for correction/improvement, measurement system analysis, data collection and analysis to potential causes, generating improvement solutions by establishing and standardizing controls to the causes of the problem and communicating ownership back to the process owner.


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Assist process owners in the interpretation of quality, technical performance and business requirements. Develop, recommend and facilitate implementation changes to workflow; improve quality management system, review operational performance and provide solutions.
  • Support the deployment of N299/ISO 9001 program and perform audits with associated RCCA activities.
  • Manage assigned projects in accordance with applicable standards, procedures and the gate review process.
  • Analyze and prepare statistical data to determine capability of processes and measurement systems.
  • Analyze test data as evidence to the degree of compliance to customer specifications.
  • Investigate product/process/system quality issues, develop and initiate improvement, preventative actions and/or corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal and external process compliance investigations/audits.
  • Act as a mentor by cultivating a network of experts in the workplace.
  • Cross train and mentor Quality Inspectors on the receiving quality; ensure JDE is accurate 100%.
  • Establish and report goals consistent with personal objectives and key initiatives to the MAC Director Quarterly.
  • Complete and submit reports on project status and performance for area of at least daily for effective Daily Visual Management protocols.
  • Perform supplier approvals or source inspection, HU, QMS audits, process, and product audits in accordance with the schedules.
  • Define and implement process or project improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure that nonconformances are dispositioned correctly to support any chargeback claims against vendors for assigned projects.
  • Ensure area that you are working in is maintained to 5S standards and selfaudits are completed.
  • Ensure all DWs and NCRs are effectively managed and closed. White boards updated weekly.
  • Ensure assigned history files are delivered accurately/on time in accordance with project requirements with no errors.
  • Ensure customer data/records/procedures are provided in a timely manner in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Travel will be required Internationally, Canada and USA destinations
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockouttagout methods.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
  • Report defect in any equipment or protective device.
  • Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • A postsecondary technology diploma or engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience is required.
  • ASQ CQE or CSSBB certification and RAB accredited training is required.

Experience:


  • A minimum of five years of quality assurance experience is required. The ability to analyze and solve problems is essential. The ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organization, both orally and in writing is required.
  • Experience with the Nuclear requirements relating to Quality and Inspection
