    TheCatholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    St. Jude School, a Catholic school established in 1955 and located in the beautiful city of Vancouver, is seeking to hire a 0.4 part time Kindergarten Teacher for the school year. This position is a short term contract for those new to CISVA and Continuing Contract for those who are already on a Continuing Contract in CISVA.

    A successful candidate will…

    • Be a practicing Catholic who can model the faith for others and give witness to the Gospel message of Jesus
    • Be willing and able to work collaboratively within the school community
    • Have a strong understanding of project based and inquiry learning, core and curricular competencies, and best practices in assessment strategies
    • Be able to adapt instructional methods to support different learning styles through UDL
    • Be familiar with current best practices with early literacy intervention
    • Be willing to administer literacy assessments (Dibels, JJ Basic Reading Inventory, Alberta Diagnostic, etc.) or be willing to learn
    • Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
    • Have experience working with students who are at various points in their learning journey
    • Be willing to commit to extracurriculars (sports, arts, music, clubs, etc) to further support the goals of the school

    On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply.
