Temporary Full-time until 01 December 2024, with possible extension
Social Worker Assistant
Stephenville and Stephenville Crossing, NL

Definition of Work:

The primary function of the Social Worker Assistant is to assist the Social Worker in the day-to-day provision and coordination of activities necessary for effective case management.

The Social Worker Assistant is responsible for the provision of distinct administrative and supportive services to clients of social workers receiving interventions and services from Western Health.

These activities include, but are not limited to; preparing financial requests, soliciting information on behalf of social workers; arranging/organizing supportive services; and providing supervision of clients, as per program policies and standards, as required by the social worker.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from high school, supplemented by three (3) years of post-secondary education in the social science field; a minimum of once (1) year experience working with clients and families; a thorough knowledge of Community Supports program and services; a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particular Microsoft Word) is essential.

Effective time management, communication, organization and interpersonal skills are essential. General clerical/administrative experience is considered an asset.

Applicants must also be prepared to demonstrate an ability to be self-directed and exercise independent clinical judgement in a community based environment with limited supervision.

The incumbent is expected to work collaboratively with team members and community; assess community needs and assets; develop, implement and evaluate community health programs and healthy public policy in a population health framework.

A valid driver's license is required; Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Query satisfactory to the Employer.

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is also required.

Note:
The use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.

Hours of Work: 75 Hours per pay period
Monday to Sunday
Flexible Hours of Work are required

Salary Scale:
$48,711.00 to $53,878.50 per Annum
