SUMMARY:


This critical role supports Canadian and US manufacturing sites within a non-union work setting with these and other general HR functional areas under the guidance and direction of the Senior Director of Human Resources, North America.

He/she provides strong HR Coordinator support, with a customer-service focus working within corporate and legislative guidelines, best practices, past precedent, and company policy provisions.

As part of a small HR team, the incumbent must be adaptable, flexible, with a strong attention to detail in communications, both verbal and written and can work effectively with ambiguous or mínimal direction.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Will be the main support for administrative and coordination of HR functional areas, programs and projects, including data analytics and meaningful HR metrics for the Senior Director of HR, North America, effectively partnering with HR team members, supervisors, and leadership team;
  • Under the guidance and direction of the Senior HR Director will assist and support with assisting, facilitating and overseeing various HR programs, projects and strategic priorities;
  • Effectively partnering with the Senior Payroll Specialist and other HR Coordinators with mandatory communications and administration of payroll and benefits management;
  • Will be responsible for comprehensive research, data analytics, HR metrics reporting (ex. Engagement, Recruitment, Turnover, New Hires, Terminations, Manpower/Staffing, HR Trends, etc.) including creation of and maintenance of a comprehensive HR Dashboard, reporting mandatory actions to the Senior Director of HR with recommended compliance activities with general HR Policy, Health and Safety, Employment Standards, or other legal and statutory obligations of the Company through research on the Internet, networking with other HR professionals or via other information gathering methods.

Responsibilities:


HR Coordinator Support

  • Responsible for supporting, assisting and providing Coordinator administrative support in focused assigned areas of the Human Resources function across Canada and US sites to a designated group of team members under the guidance and direction of the Senior Director of HR, North America
  • Functional areas of supporting HR include however are not limited to:
  • HR Policies, Procedures and Programs;
  • Talent Acquisition, Development, and Management;
  • Fullcycle of Recruitment & Selection;
  • Employment Agreement Contracts;
  • Onboarding and New Hire HR orientations;
  • Leadership and Supervisory Training;
  • Performance Management;
  • Health and Safety including the Co-Chair for the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC);
  • Support Sr Payroll Specialist with pay changes, benefits administration and communications;
  • Administrative Support for Bonus Program in collaboration with HR Coordinator team member;
  • Disability Management in collaboration with HR Coordinator team members;
  • Leaves of Absence Management;
  • HRIS maintenance and updates (update all staffing movements on Employee Tracker);
  • Adhoc reporting from HRIS (Workforce Now WFN ADP);
  • Employee Engagement;
  • Town Hall Support;
  • Recognition and Rewards Programs coordination and facilitation;
  • Social Committee Co-Lead with HR Coordinator team members;
  • Employee Relations and Investigations/Incidents Support;
  • Compensation Management including compliance requirements research and support with Projects (ex. ACA, Pay Equity, etc.)
  • Exit Interview Completion and Coordination;
  • HR Metrics, HR Data Analytics, etc.
  • Employee File Organization
  • Event Planning and Room Preparation for Employee Events and/or Customer Visits
  • Occasional Reception Duties as Business Needs Dictate
  • Office Supplies Ordering for Team and Company as Needed
  • Support for Facilities or Room Requirements for Meetings, Presentations, etc.

Recruitment - Full Life-Cycle, New Hire Orientations

  • Responsible for coordinating, overseeing and facilitating all new hire HR Orientations for the Markham site. Works with HR Coordinators and Senior Payroll Specialist on ensuring new hires are trained and onboarded seamlessly within Company mandatory guidelines and compliance trainings.

HR Metrics

  • Update the Employee Tracker and the internal ADP HRIS system (Workforce Now) with all staffing and manpower changes to support and update HR metrics accurately.
  • Provide critical HR metrics to support management strategic decisions
  • HR Metrics include but is not limited to:
  • Recruitment stats (ex. Fill rate of positions)
  • Turnover rate
  • New Hires and Terminations / Headcount Reporting (collaborates with HR Coordinator)

  • Retention rate
  • Exit Interview Analysis


  • Compensation Benchmarks

  • Compliance Requirements (ACA, Pay Equity)
