    Summary:

    The Shop Foreperson will be responsible for organizing work involved with mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment. This is the first level of supervision of tradespeople. Repair, replace, maintain, modify, and upgrade all mobile and stationary (muckers, tuggers, scoop tram, jumbos, trucks, and tractors) equipment for all Canadian assets.

    Responsibilities:


    • Coordinate and execute work schedule with shop personnel and outside vendors.

    • Ensure that all shop personnel are working safely.

    • Record daily safety messages, track safety cards for all workers, and facilitate monthly safety meetings.

    • Provide H&S compliance – Intelex.

    • Ensure availability of necessary parts and tools for work.

    • Train and instruct maintenance personnel in conformity to safe and efficient work practices.

    • Record shop activities and track repairs and regular maintenance using work orders.

    • Ensure all work follows stated procedures.

    • Responsible for shop maintenance reporting and shop equipment work orders.

    • Provide general supervision for Val Caron shop budget.

    • Provide monthly/annual shop compliances.

    • Budget and scope of work creation.

    • Perform other duties as may be assigned

    Qualifications :


    • A Grade 12 diploma and a trade certificate, or hands on experience.

    • Good oral and written communication skills.

    • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    • Proficient with the use of computers.

    • Valid Mechanic License (an asset).
