Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper is a leading northern bleached softwood kraft and northern bleached hardwood kraft pulp, paper, newsprint and directory producer. Located on Lake Superior, the Thunder Bay mill has been a landmark company of northwestern Ontario since 1919. In August 2023, Atlas Holdings established Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper as an independent pulp and paper operation, joining Atlas' global family of manufacturing and distribution businesses.

Reporting to the Director of Pulp Operations, the Fiber Supply Manager will ensure fiber suppliers provide an adequate supply of quality fiber to the mill.

In addition, this position will ensure all chips and biomass are integrated into the the mill's fiber flow and that the mill scales and lab are operating efficiently providing quality testing.


Responsibilities:


  • You will monitor and provide support for safety, environment, product quality and productivity while ensuring that budgeted safety, cost, production and quality targets are satisfied.
  • You will supervise unionized individuals and work as part of a team of 9 individuals in purchasing and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic annual source plan for 3rd party sawmills that provide chips and interface with government agencies.
  • Prepare weekly management reviews.
  • Participates in business technical requirements in regards to FSC, SFI and PEFC Chain of Custody fiber certification.
  • Manage stumpage model and payment systems.

Your profile:


  • At least 3 years of previous leadership experience and sound decisionmaking abilities.
  • Postsecondary diploma or degree is an asset.

Salary:
$120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
