_Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems (PMP)_ has been a leader in the plumbing and mechanical industry for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated company. We specialize in pre-fabrication, modular systems and installation of large scale residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and medical design-build plumbing and mechanical projects.
Our company is growing and we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player to join us as a
Material Handler at our Oakridge project in Vancouver.
Reporting to the
_Senior Logistics Coordinator_, the Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that PMP meets the highest quality standards and that all personnel have the materials they need, in a timely fashion, to complete all assigned deadlines and inventory items are being accounted for and put in their designated areas.
Specifically, the Material Handler is responsible for:
- Receive incoming items and send them to designated areas on-site to keep the work flowing
- Unloading trucks and moving material to designated areas
- Confirm received orders have arrived correctly and contact if short
- Inventory control
- Constantly strive to improve processes for the team
- Coordinate material pickups and deliveries
- Work with the Sr. Logistics Manager on Delivery Schedules
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Requirements
- Shipping & Receiving experience
- Experience using forklifts and telehandlers
- Previous construction and/or plumbing experience is considered an asset
- Variable reach forklift and regular forklift tickets required
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally is a must
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products is required
- Ability to learn shop specific software would be an asset
- Product knowledge of plumbing & mechanical components is considered a strong asset
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to multitask and prioritize
- Proactive
- Dependable
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs

- Overtime as required
- Standing on your feet
- Walking up and downstairs
- Walking through uneven grounds on construction sites
- Navigating around obstacles on construction sites, such as heavy equipment, cars, trucks
