Job description
This is a part-time contracted role with an approximate end date of December 31, 2026.Position Overview
The performance dietitian is a contract position whose primary role is to assist with the development and implementation of nutrition strategies to help player health and performance.
Key duties revolve around providing integrated performance nutrition support and education primarily to the first team with additional support for WFC2 and the Academy when time allows.
The individual in this position will report directly to the Technical Director and will work collaboratively with the Clubs Chief Medical Officer and the Heads of Physical Preparation and Medical.
Job ResponsibilitiesRegularly meet with supervisor(s) to establish nutrition priorities and allocation of resources/time
Liaise with coaches, therapists, team operations and other performance staff members in the planning, evaluation, consultation, and care of all aspects of sports nutrition as needed
Nutrition presence in daily training environment as time commitment allows.
The goal is to observe and support players' fueling strategies, behaviours and be present to build rapport with players and team members.
Collaboration with BC Place food and beverage staff and clubs team operations staff to build and execute menus/food service for home matchdaysCollaboration with First Team hotel food and beverage and clubs team operations staff to build and execute menus/food service for away matchdays and extended road trips
Collaboration with NSDC culinary staff to establish a menu and fueling strategy that support the needs and dietary restrictions of players and staff
Sport supplement education, provision, planning, implementation, inventory management
Periodized body composition assessment of players
Individual nutrition support to players as needed
Create nutrition education information/resources for players and coaches
Other related duties as required and prioritized in collaboration with supervisor
Academy Services
The Contractor will provide the Academy with 1:1 consultations, presentations, resource
Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian (RD) in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia throughout the contract term
3+ years of experience delivering performance nutrition services within professional, elite, or high‑performance sport environments.
Strong knowledge of sport nutrition principles, including fueling strategies, hydration, recovery nutrition, supplement safety, and body composition assessment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary performance team, including coaches, sports medicine, physical preparation, therapy, and culinary staff.
Experience providing individual athlete consultations, group education, and return‑to‑play nutrition support.Ability to plan and support daily training nutrition, travel nutrition, and menu development aligned with team needs and preferences.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills to maintain a positive presence in the daily training environment.
Proven ability to create, maintain, and deliver nutrition resources, presentations, and educational materials.
