We are seeking to hire a permanent full-time ECA

Light of the World is a new and innovative quality childcare centre focusing on the holistic development of children and quality care. We are a nonprofit organization providing high-quality programs for infants, toddlers, preschool, and kindergarten age groups.

are seeking qualified, dedicated, and passionate educators who will be responsible for educating, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children in their classroom environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Assist with proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children
  • May assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
  • Participating in lunch, diapering, bathroom, and toilet training duties and promoting healthy and independent practice.
  • Supporting all staff and engaging in a positive team
  • Developing and maintaining a strong partnership with parents
  • Flexibility within working practices of the setting, undertaking other duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
  • Keep the classroom clean and tidy.
  • Maintain proper documentation, logbooks, and staff communication books.
  • A team player attitude
  • Experience in planning and implementing programs

What will you bring o the team?:

  • Current CPR/First Aid.
  • Current police clearance with the vulnerable sector.
  • Immunization record
  • Food Handlers Certificate (preferred).
  • Good organizational skills and communication (Oral and written).
  • Speaking languages of the served community as well as bilingual francophone speaking applicants is a great asset.
  • This position requires long hours of standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Able to assist with our daily planned program and activities.
  • Great communication skills and problemsolving, especially interacting positively with parents, coworkers, and the children.
  • Must have Child Care experience
