Summary of Duties
Reporting to the Director and Manager of Sunnybrook Canadian Simulation Centre (SCSC) and
Library Services:
The Project Lead is a leader, consultant, educator, administrative assistant to the SCSC Director, project manager, program coordinator, and innovator.
This role is responsible for advancing simulation best practices, patient safety, and quality evidence-based care in education across the organization and beyond under the Education Portfolio.
In collaboration with the Director and Manager the Simulation Project Lead operationalizes and supervises educational initiatives for outreach programs from novice to expert practitioners both within and external to SHSC.
The Simulation Project Lead is responsible for the daily coordination and facilitation of project-specific metrics, such as surveys, program statistics, qualitative and quantitative analysis of simulations, and reporting.
In addition, this role is responsible for monitoring and supervising project-specific budgets, coordinating team flow, including Simulation Specialists, Administrative staff, Volunteers, and Co-op students to ensure program objectives are reached successfully.

The Project Lead is responsible for outreach initiatives inclusive of developing, supporting, and sustaining beneficial partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
External partners locally, provincially, and nationally including the University of Toronto, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN), local to international academic institutions, and industry where appropriate.
Qualifications/Skills
- University undergraduate degree preferred
- Clinical experience preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist or Nursing
- Must have min. 3 years' experience in project leadership or similar role
- Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, InDesign)
- Must be proficient in written and oral communication skills to support our requirement to read, edit and compose correspondence
- Must be organized in approaching work tasks and able to prioritize effectively and multitask
- Must be very adept at exercising tact and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive and highly confidential issues
- Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and act independently using sound judgment when taking initiative on a wide range of issues
- Ability to recognize when direction is needed when there are competing demands, including time sensitive requests
- Excellent problemsolving skills and an ability to work as a team member on projects
