Position Overview


Within the Mental Health and Addictions Center, the manager occupying this position manages the mental health and addiction services offered in the community.

The office sites are located in Casselman, Hawkesbury and Rockland.


Challenges awaiting you:


The Manager supervises staff and daily operations and oversees the efficient and effective deployment of resources on a daily basis.

The Manager is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of unit specific objectives, projects and indicators as well as the alignment of specific unit goals with corporate goals.

The manager reports to the director and works in the context of community services managed within a hospital structure.

On a daily basis, you will:

  • Prioritize, develop, implement and evaluate the services/clinical programs in collaboration with the director, chief psychiatrist and the interdisciplinary teams.
  • Manage and supervise daily operations, employees and resolve problems as they arise (1st line).
  • Ensure program performance, quality improvement, incident management and risk reduction within a just culture.
  • Promote clientcentered care and client safety.
  • Promote clinical efficiency and evidence basedcare.
  • Support the development of a positive collaborative work environment and facilitate effective team functioning.
  • Work closely with community partners.

Criminal Check

As a pre-condition of employment:

  • All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
  • As of now, HGH will require all employees, physicians, learners, contractors and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID19.

What we are looking for

  • University degree as a health professional or in health administration.
  • Member in good standing of a professional regulatory body in Ontario, an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a health administrative position, including management and staff supervision or related field.
  • Clinical experience with a clientele suffering from mental health and addiction issues.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric inservices and community mental health and addiction services.
  • Leadership skills: ability to develop trust, inclusiveness, change management, coaching, innovation, ability to communicate a shared vision, etc.
  • People management skills: indepth communication skills, conflict management, agility, selfmanagement, etc.
  • Decisionmaking skills: critical thinking and cognitive flexibility, maturity and emotional intelligence, problemsolving, managerial courage, etc.
  • Capacity to work in stressful situations during organizational changes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Possess a working knowledge of both official languages.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and open to working out of different sites, to sharing an "on call" schedule, and on occasion, to work outside the regular frame of work (hours and location).
