    Position Overview

    Reporting to the Fixed Plant Team Leader, you will work under the general guidance of a Journeyperson Millwright and work a 2 week on 2 weeks off rotation at the Ekati Mine. This role will continuously learn skills required for the trade and complete educational professional development required to attain certification. The successful candidate will be required to work outdoors in extreme cold weather conditions and night shift may be required.

    Preference will be given to qualified applicants from Arctic's Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) Groups, Indigenous and/or Northern residents. Members should clearly identify their IBA status on the online job application and resume to receive priority consideration.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities

    • Participate and advocate in a zero harm safety culture and all Health, Safety, Environment and Security programs within the Arctic Canadian Diamond Company;
    • Gain experience both on the job and complete technical training school sessions;
    • Work within a team setting and receive instruction on Millwright tasks and safe work procedures;
    • Always protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers. Follow all Company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures;
    • Work with other trades in a flexible team environment to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity

    Education/Experience

    • Ability to complete a Trades Entrance level exam;
    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred;
    • Experience in an industrial setting, preferably mining or a construction background;
    • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
