Requirements for the position:
Prior experience as a technician or MOA in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is preferred but not required
⦁ Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
⦁ Being MOA or ophthalmic technician certified is an asset but not required.
⦁ Experience as an MOA or ophthalmic technician is preferred but not required. On the job training will be given.
⦁ Accuro EMR experience is an asset.
⦁ Must be computer literate and able to operate a normal range of office equipment (telephone, computer, and photocopier)
Key responsibilities:
⦁ Able to accurately and efficiently take a patient history and workup ophthalmic complaints by performing vision, pressure, and other ophthalmic testing.
⦁ Providing competent administration of visual field tests, OCT, fundus photography, IOL measurements, intraocular pressure testing, etc. Training can be provided on the job, but prior experience is a major asset.
⦁ Promoting excellent patient care. Ensuring patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint.
