Finance Analyst to be located out of our
Calgary, Alberta corporate office. Reporting to the Aggregate & Asphalt Divisional Controller, the ideal Finance Analyst will possess an analytical mind along with excellent problem-solving skills. Bringing your good communication skills (both verbal and written) will allow you to develop strong working relationships both inside the team as well as externally. You have a keen eye for detail and a desire to probe further into data, always mindful of delivering to the deadlines and time constraints you face. You are a professional who works well independently as well as part of a team.

What You Will Be Doing

Create, enter and process journal entries, including preparation of relevant supporting documentation.
Maintain, review and complete general ledger reconciliations and balance sheet analysis, investigate and resolve account discrepancies
Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthend reporting packages to management and monthly/quarterly/yearend financial statements
Prepare analysis of key financial metrics and financial variances
Provide support to external auditors to explain and provide information and documents as required
Ensure adherence to finance process and controls, with an emphasis on continuous process improvements and gaining efficiencies through automation
Complete count to book inventory reconciliations when required, as well as review monthly ending inventory balances with the operational team.
Present any issues encountered with proposed resolutions to Controller
Responsible for the research and resolution of accounting issues, including evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards to ensure Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) compliance with supporting memo documentation
Ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as required by management team.

Work Hours

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday totaling 40 hours per week
Flexible start and end time.

What We Would Like from You

Qualifications/Competencies

The individual in this role will have:

5+ years' experience
Strong knowledge of ASPE
Strong knowledge of internal controls framework and testing processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills
Experience working in a teamoriented, collaborative environment
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
Advanced Excel skills.

The following are considered assets in this role:

A CPA designation is preferred, but not required
Experience in construction/manufacturing an asset but not required
Knowledge in the use of Oracle Cloud and related reporting tools
Ability to work in fast paced environment.
