Plant Controller

Reporting to the Division Controller, the Plant Controller will provide financial analytics that drive business results in support of the short-term and long-term value of the assets, liabilities and investments of the plant.

Delivers analysis as part of the finance processes, linking financial results to operational performance drivers, while providing valuable decision support analysis and driving business success.

This is a senior position within the organization.


Responsibilities

• Follows and promotes Health & Safety policies and programs while modeling core values.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions
• Establishes, modifies documents and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
• Oversees payroll, general accounting, and accounts payable with three direct reports
• Responsible for execution of the Canadian business reporting
• Works closely with mill management to optimize business decisions
• Prepares annual plan and other business cycle forecasts
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in Accounting

Preferred Qualifications

• 25 years' experience
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with strong organizational and project management skills
• Strong computer experience using programs such as Microsoft Office with capability of advanced Excel
• Experience with costing models and margin analysis
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment
