ANNUAL GIVING OFFICER

FOUNDATIONS AT HEALTH SCIENCES NORTH (HSN):

A newly created strategic plan that is rooted in collaboration, growth, and impact has helped guide the organizations in a direction that will support enhancing critical care and research throughout HSN. Our plans are ambitious, because the health needs of the communities HSN serve are significant and important.


Reporting to the Director, Marketing, Communication and Community Engagement, the Annual Giving Officer will play a pivotal role overseeing and executing all annual giving fundraising efforts for the three Foundations at HSN.

This includes working collaboratively with various Foundation team members to build strong relationships to ensure a successful outcome of all activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the Foundations at HSN annual giving activities and programs including; direct marketing campaigns, monthly giving, giving programs, commemorative gifts, onetime gifts, etc;
  • Establish fundraising goals and strategies to increase the number of annual gifts received;
  • Responsible for donor acquisition, retention and revenue generation for donors up to $9,999 in collaboration with the Major Gifts team;
  • Develop recognition/stewardship strategies and implementation of those strategies of all annual giving activities;
  • Develop and implement internal relations strategies and cultivation/solicitation/stewardship strategies for more than 4,000 HSN staff;
  • Analyze data to determine appropriate segmentation to support annual giving initiatives;
  • Seek new initiatives to grow program to align with Strategic Plan;
  • Maintain Raisers Edge NXT database records, tracking contacts, communications, and moves management information;
  • Prepare regular reports on revenue progress and expense budgets, and monitor progress to ensure KPI's are met.

OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:


  • Experience/Diploma/Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, business administration or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of fundraising experience

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Team player who has a positive attitude with a strong work ethic, who recognizes the importance of the mission of the Foundations;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated experience with annual giving and community fundraising;
  • Ability to work independently and think critically;
  • Exceptionally organized with an ability to coordinate multiple projects within tightly prescribed timelines;
  • Knowledge of current marketing and social media trends with the ability to implement strategies over various platforms;
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects while delivering on schedule;
  • Proven ability to use data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements;
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite;
  • Knowledge and experience with Raiser's Edge is considered an asset;
  • Valid driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset

What we offer:


Salary range of $55,000 - $60,000/annum, excellent benefits plan, participation in the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), and vacation allowance.
