About this role:
We're looking to add a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to our People & Culture team.
Your primary role will be to process payroll and benefits for approximately 260 employees (QC/ON), as well as maintaining employee records in our HRIS.
You will work closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager as well as the rest of the People & Culture team to ensure proper processing of onboardings and offboardings.
Responsibilities
- Work with our HR Administration system (Dayforce) to: Process bimonthly payroll, onboard/offboard employees with regards to payroll & benefits (RRSP/ DPSP, Group Insurance & Perks) including conducting new hire presentations, ensure the support and approval of automated timesheets, ensure system accuracy in employee data & information and provide various payroll and/or benefits reports.
- Reconcile Group Insurance monthly invoices.
- Participate in yearend processes and audits (adjustments, T
- Q4 slips, as well as various reports.).
- Act as a point of contact to address employees' payroll & benefits questions and inquiries and process changes to employee files and employee salary and benefit changes in systems.
- Collaborate with our Payroll & Benefit Manager on special cases (bonus payouts, parental leaves, vacation, disability, special deductions)and participate in various special projects.
- Performs various administrative tasks related to payroll and benefits.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar payroll position (QC/ON payroll) coupled with knowledge of payroll & benefits best practices and thorough understanding of employmentrelated laws.
- Dec or AEC in payroll/accounting or any other relevant related training deemed equivalent.
- Bilingual (French and English), written and spoken is required.
- Proficient experience working with Payroll systems (Ceridian, ADP, etc.) and group insurance platforms.
- Proficient using MS Office (Excel) and experience with Google sheets/drive.
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity in a fastpaced environment; keep organized, prioritize, maintain a highlevel of attention to detail, demonstrate sound judgment and act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
