Detailed Overview:
Performs Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing and equipment maintenance. Assists Registered Technician or Technologist with stress testing and other related procedures.


Responsibilities:


  • Explains procedures to prepare patients for ECG and related tests and answers related questions.
  • Performs ECG testing by attachning electrodes to the patient andoperating equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Under supervision of a Registered Technician or Technologist, performs duties such as operating ECG equipment during stress testing and related procedures and scanning recordings from equipment such as holter monitors and pacemakers.
  • Performs related clerical duties such as filing, typing, booking appointments and answering telephones.
  • Maintains equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as paper rolls, fuses and bulbs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience
Grade 12 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
