What will you be doing as the Visual Art & Events Coordinator?


You will have the unique and rare opportunity to help bring aspects of Pride Toronto's programming to the next level.

Working directly with the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the following programs; Major Cultural Events, Affiliate Events and Visual Art.

Through these programs, you will aid in the curation of Pride Month and showcase the diversification of our communities all month long.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the curation and implementation of all visual arts programming with oversight from the Director of Operations
  • Oversee the registration process for major cultural partners and affiliate events
  • Coordinate all administrative pieces related to contracts for delegated programs and artists
  • Act as the main point of contact for all program participants and answer all inquiries
  • Work with external stakeholders to identify partnerships, new opportunities for Pride Toronto and aid in increasing safer spaces for 2SLGBTQ communities
  • Create solicitation and outreach materials to advertise delegated programs
  • Oversee all elements of administration for delegated programs
  • Ensure that all information is updated regularly in Pride Toronto's data management software
  • Think creatively and strategically to ensure that all designated programs reflect Pride Toronto communities. This involves doing regular outreach to various communities to ensure that groups are aware of opportunities with Pride Toronto
  • Assist in creating rules and regulations for delegated programs.
  • Be part of any planning meetings and lead the execution of Pride Toronto's art projects that may vary from year to year.
  • Facilitate debrief meetings with delegated stakeholders
  • Assist in the production and execution of Pride Toronto events as delegated by the Director of Operations
  • Identify venue spaces throughout the City of Toronto for possible collaboration
  • Assist the Director of Operations with general administrative tasks as delegated
  • Assist with festival delivery and ensure any assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner

What are we looking for?
Qualifications and skills required of the role.

  • Visual art experience is preferred
  • 2+ years experience planning events with strong improvisation, strategic planning and problemsolving
  • Nonprofit experience is an asset
  • Lived experience working with 2SLGBTQ communities
  • Works well in team environments
  • Festival experience is an asset
