MD Financial Management, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and client-focused Senior Client Associate, MD Signature to join our team.

This is a temporary position ending February 1, 2025.


As a Senior Client Associate, MD Signature, you will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support to assist Financial Consultants and Portfolio Managers.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Be accountable for the preparation and processing of client documentation and inputting transaction requests and opportunities
  • Be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the client contact database, ensuring all applicable information and notes are recorded correctly and annual review client call requirements are brought to the attention of the Financial Consultants
  • Partner with other MD lines of business to arrange mutual client contact strategies
  • Book client meetings, as well as coordinate meetings between Signature Advisors, Signature Planners, and local specialists
  • Prepare files, send meeting reminders, respond to timesensitive requests from Advisors during client meetings, prepare correspondence and respond to all inquiries from clients regarding MD products and services
  • Maintain a followup system for inquiries and issues, ensuring expeditious resolution
  • Process trade requests, ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to
  • Support and participate in the research and resolution of a variety of complex client concerns as well as contribute to special projects, as required.
  • Ensure monthly compliancerelated tasks such as following up on noncompliant paperwork, pending documentation logs, security and cheque logs are completed
  • Lead the tracking and management of Investment Policy Statements (IPS) and Know Your Client (KYC) documentation
  • Become conversant with financial planning software, enabling you to assist in creating financial plans for Signature clients
  • Liaise with third parties (Accountants, Lawyers) to obtain client data for financial plans

The Must Haves:


  • College diploma in business, commerce or equivalent
  • Administrative experience in the financial services industry
  • IIROC licensed through the completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook for Securities Industry Professionals (CPH)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the financial services industry and rules regarding estates, trusts, RESPs, RRSPs/RRIFs, TFSAs, mutual funds, and other investment products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of CRM
  • Completion of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) is an asset
