The Role


The Project Scheduler will support the Project Managers and Resource Managers through the disciplined control and administration of the Company's Master Schedule.

The Master Schedule, managed in Primavera P6, contains all the tasks, durations (planned, actual and forecast), roles, resources and sequencing for all Projects across the Company.

The job holder is pivotal in ensuring that Project, Resource and Senior Managers have a good visibility of tasks execution and resource utilization across all areas of the business.

The Project Scheduler owns the administration of Primavera P6 and functions as an internal consultant to the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators allocated in each project of the company.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the organization, implementation and maintenance of the Master Project Schedule across the Company
  • Assist the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators to set up and maintain tasks and subtasks for defined projects.
  • Maintains the Primavera P6 database keeping at minimum EPS and resource database up to date
  • Prepare Project Scheduling associated reports to present periodic and routine reports to Senior Management and as required by Project Manager
  • Champion the establishment and maintenance of scheduling and template standards
  • Develop and maintain the schedule templates in Primavera P
  • Support corporate IT department in integrating Primavera P6 with the diverse controls systems in the company including but not limited to JIRA and ERP
  • Interact with project team to identify and select the applicable tasks from the OSI P6 template to be used in each project
  • Work with the Project Accountants and Project Managers to evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend workaround.
  • Support Project Managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
  • Assist Project Managers to develop and maintain periodic status reports for presentation to senior management.
  • Assist Project Administration Staff with the routine project administration tasks as required
  • Support the members of the Project Management Office with structured knowledge on standards, templates and best practices for project scheduling and Primavera P6
You Bring


Education:

Engineering Technologist Diploma or related field or Degree in Engineering; considerable direct experience in the role may be acceptable in lieu of formal education.


Experience: 3-5 years in a Project based environment using Primavera P6.


Skills:
Expert user of Primavera P6 or equivalent, ability to learn and understand the wider Project Management principles; computer literacy is essential; excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts; detail oriented; organization skills in management of work and presentation of information


Other:
Must be eligible to meet requirements for security clearance as applicable
