We are seeking an:

Administrative Assistant (Toronto Central) -
Permanent Full-Time

Purpose of the position


The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Regional Director, Integrated Client and Community Care, Toronto Central Region, as well as designated members of the Integrated Client and Community Care Leadership Team as applicable (e.g., Managers, Supervisors).

The Administrative Assistant works within a continuous quality improvement framework which reflects VHA Home Health Care's vision and mission.

They will also promote and maintain good public relations with clients, customers, VHA Home HealthCare staff, volunteers, and service providers
.



Key Skills, Experience and Behaviours required for this position

  • Relevant postsecondary school education/training combined with practical experience; knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience in customer services of a healthcare organization/agency preferred.
  • Proven experience in coordinating, reviewing, and sharing reports, including expense reports, performance reports, and other activities to support the Regional Director with oversight
  • Assist with calendar and meeting management plus has experience with project management
  • Demonstrates knowledge and sensitivity while working with individuals of different races, sexual orientation, gender identities, etc., and an ability to manage issues within a culturally diverse work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to document in a timely and efficient matter.
  • Strong team player and can work effectively under pressure, adhering to deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deal with multiple priorities is a requirement.
  • Knowledge and experience in data collection, representation, and analysis an asset.
  • Ability to take initiative and work efficiently as part of a fastpaced Integrated Client & Community Care team.
  • Comfortable working in a constantly shifting environment as VHA responds to changes in client and funder needs and staff availability.
  • Proven organizational and effective problemsolving skills are required.
  • Excellent telephone skills—the ability to interact professionally with callers with a client and familycentered approach to provide the client and family with a positive experience with each contact.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize changing priorities and direction easily.

Satisfactory completion of technical skills testing requirement for the position (MS outlook, Excel, work and typing test)
:


  • Ability to work independently in person and/or remotely.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with others.
  • Proficient in MS office including Excel, Word Outlook and MS teams.

A fully vaccinated person means you have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine series approved by Health Canada or the World Health Organization, at least 14 days prior to your start date and you will need to provide proof by submitting a copy of your Ministry of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Dose Administration Receipts or government vaccination passport.

VHA Home HealthCare will consider cases needing accommodation as stipulated by the _Ontario Human Rights Code_.
