DUTIES:
To promote the mental, emotional and social health and well-being of

Saskatoon and area people who are Indigenous and/or Westside Clinic
patients. To do this through individual, couple therapy, education, advocacy,
community action, program leadership and connecting clients to cultural
services and resources.

To provide psychotherapy counselling services in an office setting and, in the
community, which involves collaborating with community partners and local
service providers.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology, or the equivalent in work
experience, training and education. (To qualify as having the equivalent to a
Masters Degree a person must have a Bachelor Degree, such as a B.S.W. or
B.A, (Hon, Psych), that includes several courses in counselling theory and
practice and a counselling practicum, plus additional training, and at least
six years' experience as a psychotherapist).

  • Eligible for registration in a relevant professional association and eligible
for liability insurance to practice psychotherapy.

  • Three years of experience as a psychotherapist, preferably in a health care
setting.

  • Significant clinical training and experience in a broad range of assessment
and treatment skills for individual, couple and family therapy.

  • Knowledge, training and skill in providing counselling to people with
addictions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as an independent practitioner within a multi
- disciplinary health care team.

  • Fluency in an Indigenous language is an asset.
  • Must have a strong familiarity with an understanding of Indigenous

- cultures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and attitude.
  • Interest and skill in community development an asset.
