    RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
    The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

    Position summary
    The Commisur Lab ) is a virtual lab dedicated to improving communication between families of children and the surgical teams that care for them. Under the supervision of the Scientific Director of the CommiSur Lab, MUHC-RI (Dr. Dan Poenaru), the Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful implementation of the CIHR multi-site funded study "Longitudinal PROs, PREs, SDoH and health services utilization major neonatal surgery".

    Additional tasks would include ongoing data contracts, acting as local coordinator, main liaison for all sites, keeping track of all site REBs and ensuring REDCap data is verified and valid.

    The Clinical Research Coordinator also collaborates with other investigators, students, and healthcare personnel as needed and assists the CommiSur lab with administrative tasks related to scheduling of lab meetings, events, documentation and onboarding of new research staff or students.

    General Duties
    The Clinical Research Coordinator will report to the Research Director and Scientific Director of the CommiSur lab. The person will be able to read, interpret data, extract medical information from health records through the platform OACIS and be able to enter required information onto the secure platform REDCap. Must be able to work and learn on specific computer software.

    Field of Study: Health

    Other requirements:

    • Working health care professional ,

    • Minimum 3 years of clinical research experience,

    • Experience in a hospital/clinical setting,

    • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Zoom,

    • Bilingual: English and French spoken and written,

    • Complies with Good Clinical Practice standards (GCP) & RI-SOP (including active certification),

    • Solid written and verbal communication skills,

    • Autonomous, flexible sense of ethics and good judgment,

    • Excellent organization, ability to multitask and prioritize time-sensitive issues,

    • Ability to work under minimal supervision,

    • Flexible with high learning and change agility,

    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and responsibilities of increasing scope and complexity,

    • Proactive, conscientious, and precise in delivery of quality work even when under pressure,

    • Proficiency with grant writing is an asset,

    • Proficiency in statistical analyses, advanced statistics and R knowledge is an asset,

    • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy,

    • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,

    • Ability to work with tight deadlines and within constraints,

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,

    • Ability to display a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information.

    Status: : Temporary part-time, 28 hours / week
    Pay Scale: $23.22 to $43.11 / hour, commensurate with education & work experience
    Work Shift: Monday to Friday
    Work Site: RI-MUHC/CORE or remote depending on task
