Description

The Retirement Living Consultant is responsible for maximizing occupancy levels in the retirement residence (Small Home) by driving sales opportunities through the sales process as well as implementing programs and services to meet the social, physical, intellectual, emotional, vocational, and spiritual needs of all residents.


Key Accountabilities

Adhere to an established sales process to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Leverage Chartwell's consultative sales process to help seniors and adult children make informed decisions when choosing a retirement residence.
  • Follow up on new leads in a timely manner whether from contact center inquiries or inperson inquiries or resident/business referrals and convert to personalized tours.
  • Communicate effectively and interact in a courteous and professional manner with residents, family members, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Conduct tours, followup on all Prospects, and drive occupancy levels by closing sales through lease signings.
  • Track sales activity in CRM database and analyze reports to identify sales trends specific to the local community and residence.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to design events and develop promotion materials.
  • Prepare relevant management reports and maintain pertinent records.
  • Attend sales training as required.

Implement, and evaluate diversified and meaningful programs.

  • Chartwell approved Program within its six dimensions of wellness (i.e. social, physical, intellectual, emotional, vocational and spiritual needs).
  • Evaluate and enhance the resident experience with engaging and memorable programming,
  • Prepare and provide communication tools (newsletters, posters, notices, calendars, etc.) to internal and external customers.
  • Forecast, monitor, and manage department budgets.
  • Enhance fundraising efforts of the residence.
  • Lead, manage and enhance the volunteer programs.

Develop local Business Development and Community Integration opportunities.

  • Create, retain, and grow a portfolio of strategic networking partnerships with the local healthcare community and within the community at large.
  • Encourage external community groups to use the residence to showcase the residence.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community influencers to promote, drive, and encourage referralbased traffic.
  • Partner with manager to develop strategies to increase interest in living at residence in the local community.
  • Provide information to the public and local community organizations.

As a member of the Residence Management Team, collaboratively ensure the smooth operation of the residence.

  • Provide leadership direction and training of the sales process to the management/ leadership team.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decisionmaking, as required.
  • Provide support to other team members.
  • Actively participate in the weekly management/leadership meeting to provide updates regarding sales trends, new prospects, marketing events, and other related information.
  • Be on the rotation for the Manager on Duty program to work some weekends.
  • Understand and follow all health and safety policies and procedures (including residence's fire and safety programs).
  • Work safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, staff, and residents; promptly report all actual or potentially hazardous situations. Participate in other related assignments as required.

Qualifications

_Education:
_


  • Post secondary education or equivalent required.
  • First Aid Certificate (training will be provided).

_Experience:
_


  • Proven experience in a consultative sales role and relationship building.
  • Experience working with seniors is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the surrounding area and community an asset.

  • Communication ability to interact and communicate with Prospects, community leaders, fellow staff members and residents/guests with empathy and understanding, verbal and written.

  • Organized ability to plan and execute programs in an organized work environment under fast paced and strict time constraints and ability to multitask.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions & Effort

  • Work involves moderate walking and standing during tours or meeting community partners and for monitoring residence activities. Some work is also performed in an office environment. Flexible hours (evenings, weekends) may sometimes be required to meet with Prospects.
  • Work requires flexible mental effort associated with optimal periods of sales traffic, organizing information, and interaction with staff and the public.
