Position Summary:

Responsible for the efficient control and management of all plant and equipment e.g. chillers, boilers, generators, fire, water treatment, centrifugal pumps and various airhandling systems
Ensure regular operational checks and maintain the Operational Log.
Carry out planned and demand maintenance on all plant & equipment and update CMMS.
The role includes responsibility for Emergency Response e.g. Fire, Flood, System Failure etc.
Compliance with all Corporate OH&S Policies, Procedures and Programs.
Work within a rotation shift schedule and be available on call to attend to emergencies.
Performs other related duties as required

Key Qualifications:

Post-Secondary Technical Education.
Completion of Building Environmental Systems course I and II required.
Certificate of Qualification as issued by the Ontario Department of Labour, Stationary Engineering Certificate or Refrigeration B Certificate will be an asset.
A minimum of three years' experience in Plant Operations, preferably in an institutional environment.
Mechanical / electrical aptitude, trouble shooting skills and experience with HVAC and Coil Tube Boilers.
Proficient in the use of computers as it relates to the job
Ability to use a Building Automation System program preferably Johnson Controls Metasys and Honeywell EBI
Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
Ability to read blue print drawings.
Work on a daily basis as part of a team on a three shift, 24/7 rotation
Must complete the required training program
Positive attendance and work record essential
