What this role is all about:

The Business Relationship Manager is responsible for growing the size and profitability of Beem Credit Union 's small business book, while minimizing loan risk.

The incumbent manages a portfolio of relationships by gathering external assets and acting on internal referrals, and contributes to the growth of all lines of Beem's business.


  • The Business relationship manager is a mobile position working in partnership with various branches.
  • Works to proactively develop business from external sources, within current small business book and with the Gulf & Fraser membership. Seeks opportunities for crossselling and referrals to partner departments to continue to grow Gulf &Fraser's small business book as well as business overall.
  • Collaborates with branches and partner departments to market Gulf & Fraser's services and promote sales and growth in key target areas.
  • The incumbent works collaboratively with all credit union and subsidiary staff to proactively network, build relationships and seek business development opportunities with members and nonmembers to provide and promote a superior member experience.
  • Maintains positive and proactive business relationships with small business members and the community; actively promotes Gulf & Fraser through involvement in community groups, community events and business development opportunities.
  • Appropriately manages risk and ensures business accounts operate as authorized; takes necessary actions to correct delinquencies or unsatisfactory activity.

A little about your qualifications:


  • Postsecondary business degree or diploma
  • 5 years' experience in the financial industry, preferably in a small business capacity
  • Demonstrated success with sales, lending and account management, preferably business
  • Excellent relationship management capabilities
  • Valid BC Driver's License and reliable access to a vehicle
  • Fluency in Punjabi (written and oral) is preferred
  • Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate

Compensation:


  • Competitive base salary; reviewed annually. The salary range for this position is $69,628 to $87,035 and starting salary will be based on related education, accreditations, training, and experience.
