We are recruiting for three (3)
Youth Workers to assist youth with an intellectual disability or complex needs to engage with their peers in a social setting.

Youth Workers will assist the Youth Engagement Facilitator with planning and implementation of activities and programs, and lead groups in a variety of community, social, recreational and work activities.

These are contract positions for up to one (1) year.


Compensation package:


  • In July and August, working up to 37.5 hours/week for up to 10 weeks;


  • From September

  • June, working 3 hours one evening per week;
  • Minimum starting rate of pay is $20.65 per hour;
  • Confidential Employer paid EAP program for you and your family members;

Minimum requirements of this position include:

  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program at an accredited College or University;
  • Academic focus in Social Services or a related field is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience working with children and youth;
  • Previous experience in recreation, camping or mediating is an asset;
  • A valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation is an asset;

Duties and responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Program implementation and delivery, following the overall outline and plan for each session;
  • Identifying with each youth in the group, their individual goals and expectations, and developing a plan to assist the youth in obtaining these goals;
  • Promoting inclusion through interaction with the youth; fostering healthy relationships with group members, peers and/or community members; modeling and promoting appropriate social and communication skills; and supporting youth to participate in community activities;
  • Administering medication as outlined in each participants' individual medication direction form;
  • Participating in camp experiences with youth, as scheduled and required;
  • Financial monitoring, including managing team expenditures and providing opportunities for youth to handle cash in a responsible and safe way;
